Benefits of wooden wicks

Wooden crackling wicks are made from thin strips of natural wood instead of traditional cotton. As the wood burns, tiny pockets of moisture and air within the wood are released, creating the crackling sound. The flame burns across the top edge of the wick rather than climbing up a braided cotton wick.
